30 YEARS AEGEE Kaiserslautern-Saarbrücken
During the weekend from 23th up to 25th of November 2018 we visited our friends from AEGEE-London and spent a marvelous weekend in Britain’s capital. Bad tongues probably might say we took the last chance before the United Kingdom leaving the Union.
Besides many new impressions and interesting facts, we did not know about Britain, its history and its people yet, we met great people, who welcomed us warmly and who made every effort to make this exchange a great experience and let us return home not only with new friends been made but also long-lasting memories.
Thank you to the organizers as well as our hosts of AEGEE-London for this pleasant stay and Olaf Wientzek of the EBD for his support.
Special thanks also go to the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and their office in London. In a very informative “Brexit-workshop” with Marta Vokshi we learned a lot about the consequences of the Brexit for Britain as well as for the continent and were able to put all our questions in a lively discussion.
Also we would like to say thank you to the AStA for the financial support.

Autuem Agora Istanbul 2018
Between 2th and 7th of October AEGEE Kaiserslautern-Saarbrücken took part at the annual autumn Agora, which took place in Istanbul this year. Together with more than 500 people from all over Europe, we spend an amazing time with many remarkable experiences.
Being representative for AEGEE Kaiserslautern-Saarbrücken, we took on the role of delegates. This way, we could participate in the various elections of Netcommies, representatives of the audit comission, Summer University coordination teams as well as managers of audit groups. Nowhere else will you find as participative democratic elements as at the Agora.
Besides the elections, many new projects like “Yvote” and “Europe 2040” have been presented, wich widened our knowledge of current affairs. In order to receive further education within the context of AEGEE, we also had the chance to particapte in Workshops with topics like Sustainable PR, the European Parliament, Conflict Management and Leadership. Thanks to all the organizers who took their time to prepare and execute these workshops. If that wasn’t enough learning, we also welcomed TED-Speakers who were talking about scientific and economic topics. No matter your area of interest, the Agora definitely had some knowledge to offer to you.
Of course, we also had a great time besides the official program. While the Agora is always famous for its wild parties, this time we also had the pleasure of receiving remarkable hospitality. A big thanks to Emre and his parents, who have been our hosts and showed us the beauty of Istanbul. We won’t forget that and you can feel welcome in Kaiserslautern, too.
Connecting Europe with Kaiserslautern and Saarbrücken
Landestag der Europa Union RP
At Saturday, the 22th of September, AEGEE Kaiserslautern-Saarbrücken took part in the 41st state convention of the European Union in Kaiserslautern. In the face of many political problems in Europe, including left and right-wing populism, it seems time for a political change within Europe.
Therefore, the actual political situation and possibilities for a better future were discussed. What we experienced in this discussion was a vibrant atmosphere, created by passionate speakers who care about the future of Europe. In an astonishing act of bravery, our president Johannes also took the chance to deliver a speech in front of the present podium, sharing his innovative ideas for a better Europe.
We wholeheartedly invite everybody who wants to have an impact on the political development of Europe and is looking for a place to do so, to contact or visit us during our office hours.
Change takes time, but it begins with a small step.
Europa-Werkstatt 2018 in Berlin
New Ideas for update Europe!
From 27th until 29th of July 2018 AEGEE Kaiserslautern-Saarbrücken took part in the European Workshop, organized by the group “Junge Europäische Föderalisten Deutschland (JEF)”, at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
There we had the chance to meet the minister of state, Michael Roth, for a conversation in a Bar. In this relaxed setting, participants asked their questions concerning Europe to Michael Roth, while Manuel Gath, national chairman of JEF and barkeeper, was mixing Gin Tonics.
With the workshop being an “Unconference”, all participants had the chance to share their opinions, visions and projects regard European political topics. Being in great demand, almost 20 participants offered their own sessions at this European workshop.
All in all, we had a very pleasing weekend with a great atmosphere. Besides intensive discussions and sharing ideas, we also had fun activities like doing Yoga together in the morning. Every participant had the chance to network with new people and got encouragement to transform their vision into a concrete project.
